NMDC Iron Ore Production Rises 35% Y-o-Y in Apr’17

National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) is India’s largest iron ore producer. The miner achieved nearly 20% yearly growth in its iron ore output last fiscal and produced 34.03 MnT against 28.58 MnT in FY16. The iron ore miner significantly raised its iron ore output from Chhattisgarh mines from 16.6 MnT in FY16 to 22.03 MnT in FY17.

In Apr’17, NMDC’s iron ore production was recorded at 2.98 MnT in Apr’17, up 35% Y-o-Y. Out of 2.98 MnT iron ore produced in Apr’17, 1.98 MnT was produced from NMDC’s Bailadila mines in Chhattisgarh. And rest 1 MnT was produced from its mines in Karnataka.

In Apr’16, NMDC’s iron ore output was recorded at 2.2 MnT. However, on monthly premises NMDC’s iron ore output is down by 20% as in Mar’16, NMDC produced 3.7 MnT iron ore.

NMDC iron ore sales increase by 40% Y-o-Y in Apr’17 – NMDC’s iron ore sales stood at 3.56 MnT in Apr’17. Out of which iron ore sales from Chhattisgarh and Karnataka mines were at 2.17 MnT and 1.39 MnT respectively.

In Apr’16, NMDC’s iron ore sales was recorded at 2.55 MnT. However on monthly premises, the figure is up by 8% as in Mar’17 NMDC’s iron ore sales stood at 3.29 MnT.
