The tenth largest importer of Iron ore, Turkey’s imports have witnessed a considerable increase of 23% M-o-M with 1.19 MnT iron ore as it was 0.97 MnT in Feb’17. Turkey iron ore imports were up Y-o-Y as well by 13% as it was at 1.05 MnT in Mar’17.
In the first quarter of 2017, the country imported 3.19 MnT iron ore, up 16% as it was 2.75 MnT in the same period last year.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) import in Mar17 was registered at 0.6 MnT, up both M-o-M 17% and Y-o-Y 15%. On the same lines, the agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) import was registered at 0.59 MnT, up by both 30% M-o-M and 11% Y-o-Y.
Country’s iron ore imports were majorly from Brazil 0.34 MnT, South Africa 0.24 MnT, Russia 0.2 MnT, Canada 0.17 MnT, Sweden 0.16 MnT, Ukraine 0.08 MnT and Finland 0.14 MnT in Mar’17.
