SECL Starts Setting Up Kusmunda Coal Washery

South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has started setting up the Kusmunda Coal Washery, with a 10 MnTPA capacity, in the Korba district of Chhattisgarh.

The company,a subsidiary of the state-run Coal India Limited, will set-up the coal washery with operators on Build-Operate-Maintain (BOM) basis.
During FY17, SECL had produced 140 MnT of coal, and that was higher than the production of around 135.6 MnT in FY16.

The company has targeted production of 250 MnT from its underground and open cast mines by FY20.
