VSP's captive power plant is
under maintenance. Therefore, all Steel production in the plant is kept on
hold.
As also learned from other
sources, the bookings in the plant is closed until the plant comes under running
capacity. The production at Vizag Steel plant (VSP) was disrupted on Sunday due
to power failure of eight to nine hours than usual.
“The captive power unit of the steel
plant was affected due to some technical problem in receiving power supplied by
the AP Transco,” the management of VSP said Business Line.
The release also said there was “a zero
power situation at the plant” and there was production loss. However, all
steps were taken to protect the equipment and normalcy was restored later, the
release added.
