Coking Coal imports into India in Mar’17 were around 1% higher than the imports in Feb’17, data compiled by CoalMint Research shows.
During Mar’17, around 3.84 MnT of Coking Coal was imported into India; in the previous month, around 3.80 MnT was imported into the country.

A year-on-year comparison shows that the imports during FY17 were marginally lower by 0.7% , at 47.36 MnT, over the imports FY16, at 47.74 MnT.
Among the regions of imports, Australia accounted for the highest share in the total import basket, followed by Mozambique and USA.

During the month under review, the Mormugao port had handled the highest volume of import traffic, followed by the Paradip and Dhamra ports.
