Dispatches of chrome ore by Odisha miners have increased by almost 38% in Mar’17 against Feb’17.
TATA Steel being one of the largest miners in the region dispatched 1,33,358 MT of chrome ore in Mar’17 against 1,09,685 in Feb’17. The company has witnessed a substantial increase of about 22% in dispatch of the material on M-o-M basis. The organization held 20,646 MT for captive consumption in Mar’17 which is around 29% lower than it was in Feb’17.
Moreover, OMC registered a massive increase of 93% M-o-M in its chrome ore dispatches in Mar’17 against Feb’17. On the other hand, B.C. Mohanty and Sons is the only producer which recorded a fall of 26% M-o-M in its chrome ore dispatches in Mar’17.
