The largest iron ore exporter Australia has exported 60.94 MnT iron ore in Feb’17, according to the trade data released by Australian Customs.
In Feb’17, Australian iron ore exports were down by 4% M-o-M as it was 63.37 MnT in Jan’17. Similarly, exports have also moved down by 3% Y-o-Y for the month of Feb as it was 62.93 MnT in Feb’16.
Grade-wise Australia iron ore exports : Feb’17 vs Jan’17
The non-agglomerated iron ore import in Feb’17 was registered at 60.78 MnT over 63.23 MnT in Jan’17. Thus, the figure has fallen by 4% M-o-M.
The agglomerated ore import was registered at 0.16 MnT in Feb’17 against 0.14 MnT in Jan’17.
Country-wise Australia iron ore exports: Feb’17 vs Jan’17
China continues to be the largest importer of Australian iron ore. In Feb’17, China imported 50.96 MnT iron ore against 54.6 MnT in Jan’17. In Feb’16, the country imported 51.17 MnT iron ore from Australia .
Japan imported 41% more iron ore on monthly premises in Feb’17 and remained second largest importer from Australia. The country imported 5.57 iron ore in Feb’17 compared to 3.96 MnT in Jan’17.
Republic of Korea imported 18% less material in Feb’17. It imported 2.94 MnT iron ore from Australia in Feb’17 compared to 3.62 MnT in the previous month.
Taipei and Indonesia imported 1.3 MnT and 0.16 MnT iron ore from Australia respectively in Feb’17.
