Tata Steel Reports Hike in Crude Steel Production of 17% in FY 17

Tata Steel, the major steel giant on 3rd April’17 announced its Q4 FY17 results. Tata Steel’s crude steel output on Q-o-Q basis, moved up by 2% to 3.21 MnT as compared to 3.15 MnT in previous quarter.

On Y-o-Y basis company’s crude steel output jumped by 28% in Q4 FY17 against 2.56 MnT in Q4 FY16. Whereas in FY 17 the same was recorded at 11.68 MnT, surged by 17% against 9.96 MnT in FY 16.

The company has achieved best ever hot metal production of 10.83 MnT in FY17 against previous best of 10.66 MnT in FY16.

Tata Saleable Steel Output fell by 2% in FY 17
Company’s saleable steel output has fell by 2% to 3.11 MnT in Q4 FY17 against 3.16 MnT in previous quarter. Whereas on yearly basis the company has increased by whopping 24% against 2.5 MnT in Q4 FY16.

However in FY 17 the saleable steel output witnessed the growth of 18% to 11.34 MnT as compared to 9.6 MnT in last fiscal year.

Tata Steel key performance highlights-
1. The company’s Sinter plant has achieved best ever Net Sinter Production of 1.83 MnT in FY 17 against 1.83 MnT in FY 16.A part from this, Tata Steel has achieved highest ever annual sales of 10.9 MnT, increased by 15% against 9.54 MnT in FY 16.

2. Moreover exports sales have shown the significant growth of 7% of total volume in FY 17 as compared to 2% of  total volume in FY 16.

3. Whereas Blast Furnace in Tata Kalinganagar plant has achieved 2 MnT of Hot Metal Production in FY 17.

4. Achieved highest ever annual automotive sales at 1.54 MnT, up 9% Y-o-Y
