US Ferrous Scrap Export Down by 19% M-o-M in Jan’17 and Y-o-Y Up by 89%
US the largest exporter of scrap (after EU-28) alone was the largest exporter in CY’16. Countries export went down by 19% M-o-M in Jan’17. As per the recent trade data released by US Customs shows that US exported 1,168,355 MT in the month of Dec’16 which dipped down to 943,858 MT in Jan’17.
The largest export destination of US Scrap for Jan’17 was Mexico. The US exports to Mexico totaled 182,109 MT for Jan’17 followed by Taiwan and South Korea
US exports Y-o-Y have reportedly increased. Country Exported 499,726 Mt in Jan’16 and 943,858 Mt in Jan’17 an increase by 89%
Exports of Ferrous Scrap from US have reduced and are expected to stay the same as Domestic market continues to dominate.
