Anthracite Coal import offers have gone further down as demand moderated in international regions.
The latest import offer for the coal is assessed lower at around USD 115/MT CFR India, which declined by USD 5/MT from the rate last week.

The fall in the import offers is also an outcome of declining Coking Coal prices in international regions.
In India, demand for the coal has remained weak. There has been almost no affinity among the user-industries to use the coal.
Anthracite Coal could be used as a Thermal Coal for generating heat, or in coke making process by blending with Coking Coal.
IMPORTS
It is needless to say that the lackluster demand has rendered Anthracite Coal imports into the country negligible. During the 1-8 Mar’17 period, only 97.6 ‘000MT of Anthracite Coal was imported into India, data compiled by CoalMint Research shows.
The importers were: Essar Steel, JSW and Jindal Steel and Power Limited.
