In a continuation of trimming coal production in China, 249 mines in the Jiangxi region will face closure this year.
In 2016, 232 mines were shut down in the region, and coal mines with capacity below 90,000 ton per annum will be completely shut down in 2017.
The province currently has 265 mines, out of which 249 or 94% of the mines are with capacities below 90,000 ton per annum.
In 2016, the province had produced 7 MnT of coal.
