Turkey, third-largest Pig iron importer of the world, after USA & Italy, have imported 1.0 MnT Pig iron in 2016, according to the trade data released by Turkey Customs.
In 2016, Pig iron imports have witnessed a downfall of 10% Y-o-Y as imports remained at 1.1 MnT in 2015.
In Dec’16, Turkey Pig iron imports have witnessed a downfall of 41% M-o-M as it was 92,929 MT in Nov’16. On similar lines, imports have also moved down by 71% Y-o-Y as it was 189,705 MT in Dec’15.
Country-wise Turkey Pig iron imports in 2016
- Ukraine, the largest exporter of Pig iron to Turkey exported 658,166 MT Pig iron in 2016 against 579,858 MT in 2015. In Dec’16, the country exported 38,393 MT Pig iron, down by 35% M-o-M and 68% Y-o-Y.
- Russia, the second largest Pig iron exporter has exported 390,933 MT Pig iron in 2016 against 550,231 MT in 2015. In Dec’16, the country exported 16,896 MT, down by 50% M-o-M and 75% Y-o-Y to Turkey.
- South Africa, the third largest Pig iron exporter to Turkey has exported 26,488 MT in 2016 against 27,053 MT in 2015. In Dec’16, exports remained nil against 200 MT in Dec’15.
