Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), also known as Vizag Steel is a navratna PSE under the ministry of steel has invited a global tender for purchase of 300,000 MT imported coal of 4 different categories each of parcel size of 75,000 MT at Visakhapatnam, India.

The delivery of entire quantity shall be completed within 6 weeks from the date of acceptance to tender or LOI. RINL intends to take the delivery of shipments tentatively in Apr/May’17. Minimum 75,000 MT quantity are required to quote by a bidder.
Only established overseas coal producers owing, managing and controlling coking coal mines and producing washed/unwashed coking coal or established overseas coking coal suppliers offering hard and soft coal produced by overseas coal producers are eligible to participate in this tender.
The due date for bid submission is 22 Feb’17 till 10:30 hrs.
Current Market Scenario
Supply of the coal has increased not only in Australia but also in other regions of the world. As a consequence of increasing supply, import offers have gone down further. The latest import offer for the Premium HCC is reported lower at around USD 185/MT CFR India; and that for the 64 Mid Vol at around USD 170/MT CFR India.
