Petcoke Imports into India Down 17.6% M-o-M, Up 41.3% Y-o-Y

Petcoke imports into India during Dec’16 had fallen remarkably by around 17.6% to 0.89 MnT against that in Nov’16, according to data compiled by CoalMint Research.

Notably, the imports in Dec’16 were the lowest in the first three quarters of FY17. On year-on-year comparison, the imports during Dec’15, however, were lower at 0.63 MnT, which rendered the Dec’16 imports higher by around 41.3%.

The larger share of imports, in respect to origins, was from the US, and the rest from Saudi Arabia.

The Krishnapatnam port had handled the highest volume of Petcoke import traffic during Dec’16, followed by the Vizag and Kandla ports.
