- Stable China vanadium pentoxide prices support Indian market
- Need-based procurement continues, sellers maintain offers
Indian ferro vanadium prices remained largely stable with a marginal upward movement, as firm raw material prices and limited changes in buying interest kept the market balanced. Prices increased by INR 3,500/t ($37/t) w-o-w on 12 August 2026 to INR 1,355,000/t ($14,200/t) ex-works Raipur.
Market overview
Stable Chinese vanadium pentoxide prices support market: China’s vanadium pentoxide prices remained unchanged w-o-w at around RMB 77,000/t ($11,050/t), keeping production economics broadly steady and leading to stable offers from producers.
Chinese ferro vanadium prices (FeV50) also remained firm at RMB 83,000-84,000/t ($11,900-12,050/t). This supported a stable pricing environment in India, with neither raw material costs nor global sentiment providing a strong directional trigger.
Cautious buying keeps Indian prices range-bound: Buying interest from special steelmakers remained measured, with consumers largely covering immediate requirements rather than building substantial inventories. A supplier told BigMint that market activity remains cautious, with buyers purchasing only as needed while sellers continue to maintain current offers. This kept negotiations limited and prevented significant price movement during the week.
Outlook
Ferro vanadium prices are expected to remain largely firm in the coming week, with stable vanadium pentoxide prices and balanced trade providing support, while cautious buying is likely to limit significant upward movement.
