- Auction rescheduled from 10 Aug to 12 Aug
- Four lots of HC ferro chrome to be offered
Vedanta-Ferro Alloys Corporation Ltd (FACOR) has postponed its ferro chrome auction, initially scheduled for 10 Aug’26, to 12 Aug’26.
The auction will feature four lots of high-carbon (HC) ferro chrome, comprising two lots of material with Cr:57% min (10-150 mm), one lot of Cr:54% min (10-20 mm) and one lot of Cr:52% min (0-10 mm).
At the previous auction held on July 15, the larger lot of HC ferro chrome (Cr:58% min, 10-150 mm) fetched an H1 price of INR 121,400/t ($1,275/t) exw, up INR 600/t ($6/t) from the base price of INR 120,800/t ($1,268/t) exw. The entire offered volume was booked.
The upcoming auction comes amid a slightly weaker Indian ferro chrome market, with prices recently declining on widening bid-offer gaps and cautious buying. Buyers remained cautious on higher offers amid subdued downstream demand, while ferro chrome producers faced margin pressure.
Market participants are expected to closely watch the auction outcome for indications of near-term price direction and buyer sentiment in the domestic ferro chrome market.
