Met Coke prices in India have stagnated as dull demand continued to prevail in the country. Active buying has not yet resumed as liquidity among buyers was insufficient on account of the impact of the demonetization.
The latest import offer for the 64% CSR Met Coke is reported at around USD 307.50/MT CFR India; while, that for the 62% CSR Met Coke at around USD 303.50/MT CFR India.
The export offers for the materials are quoted at: USD 297/MT and USD 293/MT respectively on FoB China basis.
As the domestic producers have retained their prices, the prevailing ex-works prices of the Blast Furnace grade are at: INR 23,000/MT (east coast) and INR 23,500-29,000/MT (west coast).

IMPORTS
During Dec’16, Met Coke imports into India were at around 0.32 MnT, which was remarkably lower than the imports in Nov’16, at 0.39 MnT, CoalMint Research shows.
