Hearing on Anti-Dumping Investigation Postponed to 10 Jan’17

In a recent update on anti-dumping duty case concerning imports of HRC and CRC, DGAD (Director General of Anti-Dumping & Allied Duties) has postponed the oral hearing which was scheduled today (i.e. 30 Dec’16).

The 2nd oral hearing in the anti-dumping investigation concerning imports originating from China PR, Japan, Russia, Korea RP, Brazil and Indonesia which was scheduled to take place today has been postponed in view of the requests made by solicitors namely (i) namely Luthra & Luthra representing POSCO, Korea RP (ii) Economic Law Practice, Advocates & Solicitors representing many Exporters, Producers & Importers.

The oral hearing will now be held at 11:00 AM on 10 Jan’17.

On 29 Sept’16, DGAD notified all the interested parties for the oral hearing on anti-dumping duty investigations was scheduled to take place on 13 Oct’16. The 2nd hearing for the same was scheduled to take place today which has now been postponed to 10 Jan’17.

Indian government imposed provisional anti-dumping duty in Aug’16 for a period of six months and will expire in Feb’17.

On the basis of this hearing, Indian govt will decide whether Anti-Dumping duty will be made permanent or not. It is expected that after the hearing the anti-dumping duty will become permanent for five years and there are chances that the limit of Non-Injurious Price (NIP) will also be raised.
