Russia, the sixth largest coal producing country in the world expected to increase its yearly coal production by 3.2% in 2016.
The Russian Ministry of Energy has projected to achieve its yearly coal output to 385.4 MnT with an increase of 3.2% compared to last year. Earlier, the ministry targeted an increase in its coal output by 10 MnT in 2016.
In 2015, the Russia’s total coal output reached to 373 MnT which was at 358.2 MnT in 2014.
Meanwhile, Russian government had anticipated to increase its coal production by 10 MnT and a similar increase in yearly coal exports by 10 MnT in 2016.
Russia shipped more than 40% of its total output to the different destinations every year. The Russian government expected to reach their coal export to 165 MnT with a yearly growth of 5.8% compared to 2015. In 2015, Russia exported 155.6 MnT coal.
