- Production inches up amid consistent mining operations
- Sales volumes improve on stable domestic demand
State-owned manganese ore producer MOIL Ltd reported largely steady production in Q1FY’27, according to the company’s provisional update filed with the exchanges.
The company’s manganese ore production stood at 0.508 mnt, edging up by around 1% y-o-y compared with 0.502 mnt in Q1 FY’26. The steady performance was supported by consistent operations across its mines and sustained domestic requirement from consuming industries.
Meanwhile, manganese ore sales witnessed moderate growth. MOIL’s sales volumes rose by around 3% y-o-y to 0.368 mnt in Q1 FY’27 compared with 0.356 mnt in the same period last year, supported by regular procurement from domestic manganese alloy producers.
MOIL, being India’s largest manganese ore producer, operates 11 mines across Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and contributes around 45% of the country’s manganese ore production. The company produces various grades of manganese ore, mainly consumed by the ferro alloy sector for manufacturing silico manganese and ferro manganese.
In FY’26, MOIL achieved its highest-ever annual manganese ore production of around 1.9 mnt, reflecting continued focus on capacity enhancement and operational efficiency. The company aims to gradually increase production capacity to support India’s rising steel and alloy sector requirements.
