France is world’s 7th largest steel importer. Country’s top three steel import sources includes – Germany, Belgium and Italy. In CY15, France imported 3.97 MnT flat steel. It is to be noted that flat products account for a considerable share of France steel imports.
France finished flat steel imports down 9% M-o-M – France finished flat steel imports in Oct’16 fell by 9% M-o-M from 0.35 MnT in Sept’16 to 0.32 MnT in Oct’16.
However on yearly premises, country’s flat steel imports remain stable. In Oct’15, France imported 0.33 MnT flat steel.
In CY16 (till Oct’16) France imported 3.28 MnT flat steel compared to 3.43 MnT in the same period last year.
France imports finished flat steel from primarily from Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Italy.
France finished steel exports up at 0.6 MnT in Oct’16 – France flat steel exports in Oct’16 moved up marginally from 0.59 MnT in Sept’16 to 0.6 MnT in Oct’16.
However on yearly premises, country’s flat steel exports fell by 10%. In Oct’15, France exported 0.67 MnT flat steel.
In CY16 (till Oct’16) France exported 5.85 MnT flat steel compared to 6.13 MnT in the same period last year.
France exports finished flat steel primarily to Italy, Belgium, Spain, Germany & Turkey.
