TNPL has secured 300K MT of 6000 GAD Coal at US$ 81 CNF

Indian based coal trader Adani has offered the lowest price of US$ 81.00 per metric ton for calorific value of 6000 GAD and 15 percent total moisture coal for TNPL against TNPL’s recent tender. TNPL is a traditional consumer of Indonesian coal, for its paper factory in Karur district, India. 
According to E-Tender conducted by TNPL on last Wednesday, US$ 81.00 was quoted as lowest price, said sources. 
If Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL), concluded this tender successfully then, TNPL is successfully concluded a 6000 GAD coal at US$ 81/ MT CNF Tuticorin, India. The total quantity of tender is for 300,000 MT and to be delivered by 6X 50000 MT lots. The deliveries must start from 3rd week of June 2012, by Supramax shipments.
TNPL over the period of several years got the exposure and experiencing the market pulse so well and pitching their next move intelligently to secure the best of the world.
One of the far east trader commented that, the way TNPL conducts the e-auction and manual bid whichever is low is really revealing and appreciable. This gives excitement and hope for the bidders at different stages. It looks like a business combined with excitement filled game.
According to the tender norms, the quality of coal should be Gross Calorific Value (adb) 6000 Kcal/Kg basis and will be rejected  if GCV on adb is below 5600 kcal/kg. The Inherent Moisture (adb) of around 10 pct, Total Moisture (arb) 15 pct  basis and  above 23 pct  will be rejected. The Ash content   (adb) 8 pct max , Sulphur (ADB)  0.8 pct max and  Volatile Matter (adb) 25 to 45 pct and above 45 pct will be rejected.
TNPL tender terms say, the winner will be selected based on the lowest bid either from e-tender or sealed manual tender price.
