Russia, the 8th largest iron ore exporter has exported around 1.84 MnT iron ore in Oct’16, according to the trade statistics released by Russian Customs.
Iron ore exports have witnessed a growth of 36% M-o-M as it was 1.35 MnT in Sept’16. On similar lines, Russian iron ore export has increased significantly by 22% on Y-o-Y basis.
In the first 10 months of 2016, the country exported 15.04 MnT iron ore, down by 17% as it was 18.12 MnT in the same consecutive period last year.
In Oct’16, the agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) exports were recorded at 0.80 MnT, up by 14.2% M-o-M and up by 100% Y-o-Y. The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps & fines) exports were registered at 1.04 MnT, up by 14% M-o-M and down by 6% Y-o-Y .
Country’s iron ore exports are majorly directed towards the China followed by Slovakia, Turkey, Poland, Netherlands etc. In Oct’16, exports to China was recorded at 0.79 MnT, Slovakia 0.25 MnT, Turkey 0.22 MnT, Poland 0.15 MnT, Netherlands 0.02 MnT etc.
