- GRAVITA M approved for delivery against LME lead contracts
- Mundra lead output gains access to LME warehouse network worldwide
Gravita India Ltd has received the London Metal Exchange (LME) Brand Listing Certificate for its lead brand, GRAVITA M, produced at the company’s Alloying and Refining Division in Mundra, Gujarat. The approval allows the brand to be delivered against the LME lead contract with immediate effect, while warrant issuance will begin on 24 June 2026. The listing places Gravita among a limited number of Indian secondary lead producers with LME-approved brands, enhancing its visibility and credibility in international markets.
Capacity expansion supports export ambitions
The approval comes as Gravita continues to scale up its lead recycling operations. Earlier in 2026, the company expanded lead recycling capacity at Mundra by 80,300 tonnes per annum (tpa), taking the site’s total capacity to 145,100 tpa from 64,800 tpa. Located near a major port, the facility benefits from efficient export logistics and access to overseas markets.
Gravita’s total installed recycling capacity now exceeds 425,000 tpa across lead, aluminium, plastics, lithium, rubber, and copper recycling operations in India and overseas.
Global acceptance expected to improve
Under the LME registration, the brand will trade under the code GRAVTM and be eligible for delivery through all LME-approved warehouses globally. Industry participants noted that LME accreditation is regarded as one of the highest quality benchmarks in the metals sector, supporting wider acceptance among traders, consumers, financiers, and warehouse operators.
With GRAVITA M now approved by both the LME and India’s MCX, the company is expected to strengthen its export footprint and improve access to international lead markets. Growing demand for certified and traceable recycled metals could further enhance the competitiveness of Indian-origin secondary lead in global trade.
