Scrap imports to Turkey increased by 41 percent Y-o-Y in April

According
to the data provided by Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey continued its
Year-on-Year growth in Scrap imports on higher steel production in the country.

Reportedly,
Scrap imports to Turkey gained by 41 percent in April this Year comparatively from
the same period in 2011. Turkey's scrap imports amounted to 2.06mn MT in April.
This is also up by 23 percent from March 2012 when Turkish buyers imported
1.68mn MT of Scrap.

However,
Market sources feel that imports figure may lose its trend in summer period due
to weak buying interest for Long products in domestic and international market.
