Indian steel mills have cut
their hot rolled coil (HRC) export prices this week as many sellers look to the
domestic market rather than exports.
Prices fell to $620/MT
FOB price with a quantity discount offered of $10-15 for booking above 10,000 MT. Export prices for HRC few weeks ago hovered at around $630/MT.
A mill official, however, insisted that the lower prices
were subject to large tonnages. “We are willing to sell at $620 fob provided
the tonnages are high,” said the official.
