Germany Iron Ore Import Down by 7% in Aug’16

Germany, the world’s fourth largest iron ore importer has imported 3.12 MnT iron ore in Aug’16, according to the trade statistics released by European union customs.

Iron ore imports have witnessed a downfall of 7% M-o-M as it was 3.37 MnT in Jul’16. On the similar lines, Germany iron ore imports dropped down by 3% Y-o-Y as it was 3.23 MnT in Aug’15.

During the first eight months of 2016, the country imported 25.43 MnT iron ore, down by 10% Y-o-Y as it was 28.28 MnT in the same period prior this year.

germanuy-iron-ore-imports-in-aug16The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) import in Aug’16 was registered at 1.79 MnT, significantly down by 23% M-o-M and 6% Y-o-Y. On similar lines, the agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) import was registered at 1.33 MnT, down by 24% M-o-M and 1% Y-o-Y.
