- IF steel prices rise amid volatility; Hyderabad sees sharpest gains

India’s induction furnace (IF) steel prices witnessed a slight improvement on 27 March 2026. Offers announced by mills increased by INR 800 per tonne (t) d-o-d compared to the previous trading session.
Sponge iron offers rose in the range of INR 100-300/t d-o-d, with the sharpest rise of INR 300/t in Hyderabad, where prices settled at INR 28,200/t.
Billet prices increased by INR 100-800/t, with the sharpest hike seen in the Ahmedabad market occurring in INR 45,300.
Meanwhile, rebar (Fe 500) offers rose in the range of INR 100-800/t.Major price increased by INR 800/t was noticed in Ahmedabad to INR 51,000/t.
Limited trades were observed in the market today amid volatile price trends. Sellers were trying to hike offers. However, need-based buying was evident in the market from the buyers’ end. Currently, market participants await clarity on the trend and remain cautious before making bulk bookings.
