Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices remained unchanged at $105.2/dmt CFR China on 15 Dec. Market sentiment remained subdued amid weak demand and thin participation. With steel mill margins still under pressure, an oversupply of higher-silica mid-grade cargoes, especially from Australian brands has shifted preference toward low-alumina Brazilian material. Discounted Brazilian cargoes appeared more cost-effective, while buying interest from mills stayed muted.
