France, the world’s seventh largest iron ore importer has imported 1.32 MnT iron ore in Jul’16, according to the trade statistics released by France customs.
Iron ore imports have witnessed a growth of 9% M-o-M as it was 1.21 MnT in Jun’16. On similar lines, France iron ore imports remained unchanged on Y-o-Y basis.
During the first seven months of 2016, the country imported 7.82 MnT iron ore, down by 18.7% Y-o-Y as it was 9.62 MnT in the same period prior this year.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) import in Jul’16 was registered at 1.09 MnT, up by 4.8% M-o-M. On similar lines, the agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) import was registered at 0.23 MnT, significantly up by 35.2% M-o-M.
- Brazil, the largest exporter of iron ore to France has exported 48% of the total France imports. In Jul’16, the country exported 0.63 MnT iron ore, up by 10.5% M-o-M. The nation imported 0.58 MnT iron ore in Jul’15.
- Canada, the second-largest iron ore exporter of iron ore to France has exported 0.62 MnT in Jul’16 against 0.54 MnT in Jun’16. The country exported 0.42 MnT iron ore in Jul’15.
