Anthracite coal import offers have gone further up by around USD 2/MT on stronger demand in Russia and China.
The latest import offers of the coal variant have gone up to around USD 121/MT CFR India, according to a reputed importer.
Stockpiling of the coal by power producers in Russia has begun to meet the peak demand during the winter season. In China, consumption of the coal by the fertilizer producers also has increased.
In India, demand has, however, remained sluggish as buyers continued to prefer alternate fuels, like other forms of coal and Petcoke.
