With the recent release of trade data by South Korean Customs, it is legible that the ferrous scrap import by South Korea increased by 15% M-o-M. The nation imported around 0.53 MnT during Aug’16. Import of ferrous scrap by the nation decreased by 2% Y-o-Y as it was 0.54 MnT during Aug’15.

Imports from Japan decreases by 11% M-o-M

South Korea imported 0.25 MnT ferrous scrap from Japan during Aug’16, registered a downfall of 11% M-o-M and Y-o-Y respectively. The nation imported 0.28 MnT during Jul’16 as well as in Aug’15.

Imports from United States significantly increases by 133% M-o-M

With imports of 0.14 MnT ferrous scrap from United States during Aug’16, South Korea registered a growth of 133% M-o-M against 0.06 MnT during Jul’16. The nation imported around 0.07 MnT during Aug’15, registered a growth of 100% Y-o-Y.

Imports from Russia increases by 22% M-o-M

South Korea imported around 0.11 MnT from Russia during Aug’16, registered a growth of 22% M-o-M and a downfall of 15% Y-o-Y. The nation imported around 0.09 MnT during Jul’16 and 0.13 MnT during Aug’15.
