The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk index climbed on strong gains in the Capesize segment, supported by firmer iron ore demand and tighter vessel availability. However, Panamax and Supramax segments softened on limited coal and grain cargo activity, which capped market gains.
- Capesize: The BCI rose 102 points to 2,945.
- Panamax: The BPI declined by 36 points to 1,849.
- Supramax: The BSI fell 6 points to 1,336.
