Global crude steel production drops 1.6% y-o-y in Sep’25: WSA

Global crude steel production dropped by 1.6% y-o-y to 141.8 mnt in Sep’25, as per the World Steel Association (WSA), which draws on data from the 70 countries that report to it.

• China’s output dropped by 4.6% y-o-y at 73.5 mnt.
• India’s production rose by 13.2% y-o-y to 13.6 mnt.
• Japan’s output declined 3.7% y-o-y to 6.4 mnt.
