India: ERW patra pipe prices fall w-o-w ahead of Diwali festival

  • Billet, patra prices fall, reducing cost support
  • Need-based trading to continue in near term

Indian electric resistance welded (ERW) patra pipes (41-60 OD) declined w-o-w in Raipur and Mandi. With Diwali approaching, the traditional festival slowdown led to a significant reduction in demand, with buyers holding back on stockpiling.

“Although prices were reduced, the volume of inquiries remained very small due to the ongoing dispatch of pending orders,” as per BigMint sources. Meanwhile, in the middle of the week, demand saw a slight improvement, driven by essential purchasing from buyers.

Prices in Raipur decreased by INR 100/t d-o-d on Friday. However, in Mandi, on a d-o-d basis, prices remained unchanged on 17 October 2025. Prices stood at INR 38,100/t in Raipur and INR 41,000/t in Mandi Gobindgarh. Listed prices are ex-works (exw), excluding 18% GST.
