Indian steel giant, JSW Steel’s Aug’16 production numbers are out and the company has produced its highest ever crude steel output in any given month at 1.35 MnT.
If M-o-M comparison is done, the same is up by 2% against Jul’16. Whereas on Y-o-Y basis, the same has increased by a whooping 26% against Aug’15.
The company’s flat products output is up by 7% M-o-M basis and is recorded at 0.97 MnT. While Y-o-Y basis the same is up by 15%.
In case of long products, the company has recorded a jump of 47% in Aug’16 against Jul’16 at 0.25 MnT. On Y-o-Y basis, the company has registered an increase of 9% in AUg’16 against Aug’15.
Indian government’s announcement of anti-dumping duty on flat products in the start of Aug’16 might have driven the production numbers of JSW Steel in the month of August.
As per SteelMint analysis, with import restrictions being in place coupled with good monsoons and positive demand outlook, the domestic steel manufacturers are anticipated to have positive numbers in the upcoming months also.
