Japan’s Steel Export Up by 4% in Jul’16

According to Japan’s customs data, the country’s steel export registered an increase of 4.06% in Jul’16 against the previous month and stood at 3.58 MnT. Whereas, the country’s steel import remained almost stagnant at 0.32 MnT in Jul’16 against Jun’16.

On Y-o-Y basis, Japanese steel export moved up by 1.42% in Jul’16 against corresponding month of previous year. While, import moved down by 6% in Jul’16 against Jul’15.

Japan’s steel export was majorly directed towards Korea, followed by China and Thailand. While, the country majorly imports steel from Korea, Taiwan and China.

During Jan-Jul’16, Japan’s iron and steel export stood at 24.30 MnT; down by 1.30% against corresponding period of previous year. Whereas, the country’s steel import for the same period stood at 2.40 MnT; down by 2.43% against Jan-Jul’15. Screenshot from 2016-08-30 17_09_40
