Iran: Billet prices inch up, but gains capped by weak demand

  • Iran’s billet prices rose 4,000 rial/kg to 333,500 rial/kg on 27 Aug’25, remaining largely stable on weak demand and limited supply. Rebars and I-beams were flat.
  • HRCs gained 5,000 rial/kg to 422,000 rial/kg amid stronger sales by Mobarakeh Steel, with HRP, CRC, and HDG steady amid sluggish demand.
  • With output set to recover in mid-September, further gains look unlikely without stronger demand amid recession and inflation.
