  • Nayara increases prices by INR 300/t
  • BPCL lifts prices by up to INR 278/t

Major Indian pet coke producers increased prices for August 2025. Notably, IOC raised prices by INR 700/tonne (t), while Nayara Energy increased rates by INR 300/t.

IOC raises pet coke prices in Aug’25

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), India’s second-largest pet coke producer and market leader in domestic sales, raised prices across all refineries by INR 700/t, w.e.f. 2 August 2025. At Koyali, road supply was at INR 11,850/t and rake supply at INR 11,650/t.

Panipat’s general price was set at INR 12,780/t. Paradip’s road supply was at INR 11,080/t and rake at INR 10,880/t. Haldia’s road supply rates were revised to INR 11,250/t and those for rake to INR 11,050/t.

Export prices to Nepal and Bhutan also increased by INR 700/t, with Panipat’s matching domestic rates, while Paradip’s and Haldia’s ones remained higher by INR 1,290/t and INR 990/t, respectively.

IOC’s rake prices are INR 200/t lower than road prices across Koyali, Paradip, and Haldia.

BPCL lifts pet coke prices

BPCL raised Bina refinery rake supply prices by INR 113/t to INR 13,635/t, with road tags being INR 50/t lower. Kochi refinery rake supply rates rose by INR 278/t to INR 11,423/t; no road supply is available.

Bina’s availability remains low at 20,000-25,000 t/month, while Kochi maintains 85,000-90,000 t/month. This month, Bina’s prices were kept INR 95/t lower than Nayara’s and Kochi’s were INR 2,307/t lower.

MRPL increases rates in Aug’25

MRPL lifted road supply prices by INR 120/t to INR 10,690/t and rake/barge to INR 10,390/t. The INR 300/t gap between road and rake/barge rates reflects handling costs. Current prices are 1.1% higher m-o-m and 1.7% above last year. MRPL largely supplies cement customers via rake shipments.

Nayara raises prices in Aug’25

Nayara Energy increased prices by INR 300/t to INR 13,730/t. This is 5.1% higher y-o-y and 2.2% above last month. With RIL halting market supplies since April, Nayara remains the largest supplier from a single refinery. US sanctions on Russia may affect crude sourcing and production stability, given Rosneft’s stake in Nayara.

CPCL raises prices by INR 300/t

CPCL revised its pet coke prices to INR 13,440/t from INR 13,140/t in July, marking an INR 300/t hike, matching Nayara’s increase. With no rake loading facility, CPCL dispatches 40,000-45,000 t/month by road, mainly to Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. August prices are INR 290/t lower than Nayara’s but INR 2,750/t higher than MRPL, reflecting persistent regional pricing disparities.
