BigMint’s bi-weekly domestic pellet (Fe63%) index for Raipur, inched up by INR 50/t ($0.5/t) to INR 10,100/t ($115/t) DAP, deals for around 70,000 t were concluded.
Sponge iron spot prices in India fell by INR 100-400/t, with the steepest drop of INR 300-400/t recorded in Durgapur. Overall, only 8,000 t of sponge iron was booked during the day.
BigMint’s billet index recorded a marginal day-on-day (d-o-d) decline of INR 100/tonne, settling at INR 37,400/t exw. The conversion spread from PDRI to billets for standalone induction furnace (IF) operators in Raipur was assessed at INR 13,050/t.
