SAIL Highlights 15% Growth in Sales during Jul’16

Steel Authority of India Limited declared its operational performance of Jul’16; sales of long product registered best performance in the period.

State owned Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has recently declared its operational performance of Jul’16 and recorded a growth of 15% in total sales including exports compared to Jul’15.

Despite ongoing monsoon season, the company’s domestic growth sales has seen an increase of about 8.5%; surpass to 1 MnT of saleable steel in Jul’16 compared to same month last year.

The company also claimed that among all product segments, long product performed best with a 17% growth in sales in Jul’16 against Jul’15 and special steel growth of 4% in the same period.

Its production growth saw an increase of 13% to 1.16 MnT of saleable steel in Jul’16 in the duration.

SAIL Chairman, Mr PK Singh said, “We are striving to produce higher Net Sales Realization (NSR) products through ramping up of our new facilities and completing the balance modernization projects. At the same time, we are exploring new markets, both domestic and overseas. The company continues to focus on cost reduction initiatives and we hope to serve the market better with our enriched product basket.”
