China: Iron ore prices edge up marginally d-o-d

Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices increased by $0.45/t d-o-d to $96.9/t CFR China on 28 May’25. The uptick was driven by renewed buying interest, particularly for medium-grade fines. While most steel mills continue to favour high lump usage, market participants expect fines prices to remain relatively stable at current levels. Portside prices also remained steady.
