Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market decreased by INR 200/t d-o-d on 26 May’25. According to BigMint’s assessment, HMS (80:20) stood at INR 33,500/t ($395/t) ex-yard. The drop in prices is attributed to subdued demand for both semi-finished and finished steel during the previous trading session, which, along with average scrap trading activity, prompted suppliers to adjust their offers downward.
