China: Spot iron ore prices inch up by $1/t d-o-d

Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices rose by $0.60/t d-o-d to $98.6/t CFR China on 9 May’25. Raw material prices climbed up as strengthening demand, tightening supply, and falling inventories bolstered the market. Strong mill outputs and healthy steel mill margins added momentum, while stable downstream demand and firm portside markets sustained optimism despite sustainability concerns.
