India’s induction furnace (IF) steel market witnessed mixed sentiments today, with mills’ offers falling by INR 100-500/tonne (t) day-on-day (d-o-d) on 25 April 2025.
Sponge iron prices decreased by INR 100-350/t d-o-d. Prices dropped sharply in Ramgarh by INR 350/t.
Billet tags decreased by INR 100-500/t d-o-d, with the highest drop of INR 500/t seen in the Hyderabad and Rourkela clusters.
Rebar (Fe 500) prices decreased by INR 100-400/t d-o-d. Prices dropped sharply in Raigarh and Durgapur by INR 400/t.
Limited buying activity was observed in the spot market today, as buyers adopted a wait-and-watch approach, awaiting further clarity on market direction. In the near term, participants expect prices to remain volatile.
