Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang rose by INR 200/t d-o-d on 3 Apr’24. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 35,400/t ($413/t) exy. A disparity has emerged between bids and offers for scrap in the market. The ongoing dismantling of around 25-30 ships in the yards has limited the supply of scrap. This situation prompted scrap suppliers to raise their offers today.
