The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has mandated certification for certain aluminium products to ensure safety and compliance. This decision follows inspections at Ibex Engineering in Karnataka and an aluminium facility in Tamil Nadu, where companies were found operating without the required licenses. Enforcement begins on April 1 and 14, 2025. Affected manufacturers must secure BIS certification to avoid penalties.
