China: Steel billet prices rise RMB 30/t ($4/t)

Steel billet prices in China’s Tangshan rose RMB 30/t ($4/t) to RMB 3,100/t ($427/t) on 9 Dec’24 against 6 Dec. Prices include 13% VAT.
An increase in rebar futures, coupled with stability in finished steel prices, provided support to billet prices.
Meanwhile, SHFE rebar futures (May’25 delivery) increased by RMB 19/t ($3/t) to RMB 3,330/t ($458/t) on 9 Dec against 6 Dec.
