Indian Met Coke Import Hits Highest Level in Apr’16

India, one of the prime destinations for Met coke trading, has recorded a growth of 375% in its Met coke import in Apr’16 against Mar’16.

 India, one of the renowned purchasers of Chinese Met coke, imported about 375% more coke in Apr’16 against the previous month. The aggregate amount imported in the month touched to 0.38 MnT.

SteelMint studied that out of total import, China contributes to around 76% of Met coke import in the month.

India imported around 0.3 MnT of Met coke from China and whatever is left of the amount was exchanged by countries like Japan and Indonesia. Astoundingly, the country’s coke import bounced up by around 375% in a month’s opportunity.

It is to be noticed that with a specific end goal to defend local coke makers, Indian Metallurgical Coke Manufacturers Association (IMCOM) for the benefit of indigenous makers had connected for incitement of examination for forcing hostile to anti-dumping duty on LAM coke traded from China and Australia on 30 Dec’15. What’s more, according to concerns, the outcome is expected till the end of this month.
