Thailand: Ferrous scrap imports fall by 7% y-o-y in 9MCY’24

Thailand’s ferrous scrap imports fell 7% y-o-y to 883,901 t in 9MCY’24 from 947,532 t in 9MCY’23. Imports dropped 15% m-o-m from 108,296 t in Aug to 92,002 t in Sep.
Y-0-y, imports witnessed a decline of 14% from 80,585 t in Sep.
The US emerged as the leading exporter to Thailand at 35,502 t (35% of the country’s total imports), followed by Australia at 10,495 t and Japan at 4,528 t.
